Alkyl polyglycosides belong to the group of nonionic surfactants. Unlike conventional surfactants, such as fatty alcohol ethoxylates, the manufacture of our polyglycosides is based exclusively on renewable raw materials. By using glucose derived from corn or potato starch and natural fatty alcohols derived from renewable coconut or palm kernel oil, both the hydrophilic & hydrophobic parts of the APG molecule are based on renewable raw materials.

Example of use
GLUCOPON 215 CS UP exhibits excellent caustic stability and solubility in caustic and saline solutions. Due to its good wetting and dispersing properties GLUCOPON 215 CSUP can be used for caustic, neutral and acidic hard surface cleaning for the household and institutional sector. GLUCOPON 215 CSUP shows excellent solubilizing properties in highly concentrated surfactant solutions also in the presence of salt and alkalis.
Processing Instructions
GLUCOPON 215 CS UP is self-preserved via an elevated pH level. Due to this elevated pH, GLUCOPON 215 CS UP is hazy in appearance. By reducing the pH value, e.g., with citric acid to below 8.5 the cloudiness being specific for the product disappears thus also enabling the formulation of clear products. Below pH 11.5 GLUCOPON 215 CS UP is no longer sufficiently protected against microbial contamination, that means the end formulation has to be preserved in a suitable way.
GLUCOPON 215 CS UP exhibits excellent solubility, stability, surface and interfacial activity in concentrated saline and alkaline solutions. It may also be used as a coupling agent in concentrated surfactant systems and in the presence of salt and alkalis. GLUCOPON 215 CS UP is compatible with all other classes of surface active agents. GLUCOPON 215 CS UP can be easily stored and handled at room temperature.
