Balm mint is one of the earliest known traditional European medicinal herbs. It is also used in cooking and as a refreshing tea. Paracelsus called this herb "the elixir of life". Balm is a short form of balsam, which is associated with mildness, restructuring, calming and tenderness. These properties are reflected in common applications to calm nervous tension, to promote a restful sleep and to relax in anti-stress baths. Furthermore, it has been rediscovered as a remedy to soothe skin problems caused by viruses, especially herpes simplex. Due to these benefits, balm mint is also an active ingredient in cosmetic formulations such as refreshing tonics, massage oils, cleansing for oily skin, as well as hair balms and lip balms.

Herbalia® Balm Mint is standardized on 5% rosmarinic acid obtained from the leaves and guarantees a higher quality than described in European Pharmacopoeia.
