Panax ginseng was discovered 5000 years ago in the mountains of Manchuria, China. Originally used as nutrition, it quickly became revered for its strength-giving and rejuvenating properties. In the Chinese philosophy, the curative, vitalizing power of ginseng benefits the whole body. Corresponding to yin and yang, ginseng brings the body into harmony. The holistic effect is reflected in the ginseng root, which resembles the shape of the human body. Moreover, the botanical name, Panax derived from the Greek word panacea, meaning “cure all”, reinforces its overall functionality.
