Centella asiatica  has a long history in the promotion of wound healing in the treatment of skin diseases, especially in India and Indonesia. According to a legend, injured Bengali tigers instinctively search for centella plants. They rub their wounds against the plant and even eat the plant to improve the healing process. It is due to this legend that Centella asiatica is also called tiger grass. 3000 years ago, this tropical plant found a place in the ayurvedic and traditional medicines of Asia and Africa.
